It's been a long time since I've worked with acrylics.
I had a set of Liquitex Concentrated Artist Colors that I dug out of the bottom of my supply chest.
They are at least ten years old but were still in good shape.
These acrylics come in plastic jars and are smooth and creamy to work with.
Much easier to mix than the tube variety.

Here's my first try.
Thought I was done, went to an early lunch, came back with fresh eyes and realized I was still doing the same thing.

Love what you've done with the orange outlines here. It gives the piece a whole new vitality! :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy. What I don't like about this challenge? Putting work out there that is anything less than the best I can do.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm doing that here because of time constraints and new materials. Not sure it's helpful. I don't need encouragement to paint more I paint all day every day. We'll see, not sure if I'll hang in there.
I FEEL YOUR PAIN GF! B U T , HANG IN THERE ... please believe me, the growth is worth the embarrassment! This really pushes you to stretch your boundaries. AND It's only 30 days, which is like a blink of an eye anymore. What have you got to loose except maybe a little pride? ;-) Remember ... "It takes a long time to become young." ~ Picasso
DeleteIt is a pride thing, isn't it?! I do need to change this up some or I won't make it so... I know I love watercolor! I'm not going to change at this point and become an acrylic or pastel painter. I'll keep most of my experiments within the realm of watercolor because that's what will benefit my work more and every once in a while break out the other supplies. Ok we're pushing on!
DeleteBig difference! Orange WOW! Love the purple, it adds so much pop, but does not distract.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sheila!
